Day Two: Big Fail
As I sat in bed while she was still sleeping, I thought I’d get a jump on that ambitious photo album challenge I gave myself.
I recently found a neat little trick on my phone where I can search photos by theme! I figured this out after I spent way too long going through thousands of photos to find what I needed.
So first, I typed in "Christmas". I found 158 beautiful Christmas images to send to the album. Well, after I selected them and tried to email them to my computer, with the subject “Christmas photos”, look how organized I was being, a message popped up.
The file was too large and asked me if I wanted to try again. I pressed yes, and then…well, then nothing. The message went away, my 158 photos were deselected and I was left feeling like I wanted to throw my phone and computer against a wall.
Instead, I put everything away and walked away. There's always tomorrow...
Day Three: Still Failing
Here I am at day three and I thought I had it figured out. Once again I started while she was still asleep, hoping she would stay knocked out long enough for me to complete one task. I have decided I would be a little less ambitious for the sake of efficiency. One task at a time.
All I wanted to do was to try that darn Christmas album again. So once again, I selected (only 15 at a time) photos to send to my email from my phone. But then I remembered I have a Mac laptop and my photos have been getting sent there this whole time! Woohoo! Win, right?
Well, as soon as I opened it up and got to my images, my daughter wakes up and looks over to ask me what I’m doing. Then, as her clever detective skills observed, “Are you making me a photo album for my birthday?” Ugh, sometimes I don’t like having a smart kid.
So now I’m sitting here typing this, while she’s on my phone distracted by some room designing game and I’m no closer to completing the album.
The good news is, I’ll be taking her to the waterpark today, which means more photos to add! Yay? At least I know I can search through all of the images by writing in “waterpark” this time instead of scrolling through thousands of photos. This is not going to be easy, is it?
Question: How would you go about organizing the photos? By year? Be event? By some better system than I can think of? Help!
Following the journey?
That is a lot of photos! I wouldn't be surprised if I had a similar amount. I agree it is nice to declutter them and refresh the photos around the house sometimes.
